[that trial was downright hellish in some ways and yet they still arrived at the correct answer? Chiron isn't certain if he should be proud or exhausted.
But before retiring to his room, he's going to be on the ground floor of the inn, mostly to check up on anyone who needs to talk or a pick-me-up. Just because they found the killer doesn't mean everyone is happy.]
[ if he gets close enough he'll feel that - yeah, clem's not ecstatic about how everything went down. there's a lingering tension from the day, and yes definitely some relief... but also a frustration. ]
[Gonna backdate this so it doesn't buck up against the event--
Which means Chiron will be in a good enough mood to greet Clementine in his usual mellow way, though given the memory bubbles floating about--
It's no surprise that one gets underhoof as he approaches her, and he winces slightly when he hears it pop.
But he's lucky -- the scenery changes into something warm and familiar, and Chiron feels the perspective shift
Until you are standing in a large meadow of grass, a student of six years in front of you. His hair is a vibrate green and his manner cocky, a spear in his hand as he waits impatiently for instructions, practically dancing on his toes.
“Achilles”, you say, amused. “Are you sure you are prepared?”
“Yes, Master!” His expression lights up with boyish delight but his grip tightens on the spear all the same, and your lips quirk into a smile.
“Very well. Begin.”
And with that, the student drives himself forward, the spear pointed at your throat while you stand patiently. It's a move that would kill a lesser opponent in an instant, but here it is parried with a slight flick of your wrist, and the other hand rockets out to force the child back a couple of paces. Though he’s stunned by the hit, he recovers quickly and attempts to aim for one of your legs next – an obvious move, but not a foolish one, even if you step back and punch downward and catch the child by the forehead.
This time the blow sticks, and the spear drops to the ground, the child panting, a look of pain and remorse in his eyes. You did not hit his heel, so he'll be fine, but watching as he pouts himself into silence, well...
You just smile and settle down in front of him, ruffling his hair.
“It is alright, Achilles, you have improved.”
“—But I didn’t even hit you, Master..."
“Yes,” you agree. “And likely you won’t for a few more years. But I stepped back, did I not? Is that not progress?”
He doesn’t look particularly impressed by this logic and sighs instead, like he had wished to launch all two tons of you into the sky. Now holding a hand to his aching forehead, his bottom lip quivers. You chuckle and offer him one more hair ruffle before lifting yourself back on your legs.
“Come. As a reward, we will go hunting later. In the dark, no less. Will that suffice?”
Almost immediately he has jumped right back on his feet with both arms lifted in delight, and gives you no chance to prepare yourself as he scrambles up your back. “Yes, Master!!”
"... Achilles. Really. At least pick up your spear, too."
"-- Ah. Oops."]
... Well. [A pause, as the scene ends] I am glad you have now had a chance to meet my student.
[ clementine smiles, because - that wasn't someone's trauma being dragged up for her! it was cute, and familiar in that she's certainly had similar conversations with aj. ]
[ clem is just out to get fresh air because GUESS WHAT, WE'RE ALL STILL SICK. but fresh air helps.
walking's not great though. she's nauseous and injured, so she's coming over to sit down next to chiron. even if she looks pretty uncomfortable about it? it would be awkward to avoid him when she's this close...

Which is why Chiron will go out of his way to find Clementine, greeting her with a soft nod and an immediate inquiry]
Did you still wish for me to make you a bow?

That's still on the table?

Is there a reason you thought I'd go back on my word?

[ and a government mandated Revenge. ]

But there will likely be murders whether or not I gift you the bow.

My, you do not waste time, do you?
Though I'm not against it.

You're fine with it, so it's no problem.

Will this be a trade, or one-sided? I am not partial to either option.

Well. Pretty fucked up.
[ i mean... yeah. ]

[Can't deny that. He'll glance up from the river, and after a pause pat at the ground if she would like to join him]
Our lack of focus did not do us any favors today.
no subject
With two deaths, there was so much to focus on. And with that kid drawing attention to him and keeping it...

[Folding his arms some, his eyes back on the water again]
Regardless, while I would have rather he live, to act suspicious is to flirt with the consequences of the trial.

It's been rare to see a nice memory.
... He was cute.

Wasn't he?
[Said with some fatherly pride]
He could have charmed all of Greece if he had wanted to at that age. It's for the best I trained him in private.
