History
Personality
Just like in Greek legend, Chiron is a calm, patient, and intelligent individual, well-mannered and courteous to everyone he meets. It's an advantageous disposition to have given that he is a teacher, and he has tutored legendary heroes from Hercules to Jason to Achilles. As such, he tends to command the respect of those who know his True Name. During the Apocrypha timeline, he is addressed as a sage by his peers and given the responsibility of manning the frontlines, as well as being regularly solicited for his opinions.
Being a teacher/scholar is so embedded in his being that it's difficult for him to stop himself from offering advice. He will quickly hone in on who needs a guiding hand, and will adjust his teaching methods to fit the student -- even in the middle of a Holy Grail War. It's why he comes to view both Fiore and her brother as precious students of his, willing to guide them on their appropriate paths despite knowing he will die if he cannot make his wish come true.
Though when it comes to combat, Chiron puts aside his gentle nature for a ruthlessness that most would not associate with him. It's here that he shows he is exceedingly pragmatic in his world views, and especially when it comes to fighting, he won't hold back among seasoned warriors no matter the circumstances (for instance, upon realizing that Achilles and him would be opponents in the war, he regularly chastises his former student for being too soft). This is a centaur who prides himself as a warrior, after all. In fact, Chiron is not above being sneaky or using a person's weaknesses to his benefit, once claiming that he's never let a student beat him in battle. Before he dies in the war, Chiron shoots Achilles' weak spot to strip him of his immortality, even after their battle is decided. It's just as much an act to fulfill a promise to his Master, but it shows that Chiron is dangerous until the very moment he stops breathing. He is also known to retreat without any sense of shame, regularly using hit and run tactics befitting of an archer. He's a strategist and a quick thinker, and while he craves an honest, noble battle as much as the next hero, war is an ugly affair where they're all playing to win.
None of this is done with cruelty in mind, however, and there are certainly limits to what Chiron is willing to do for his goals. Double-crossing one's Master/teammates for your own selfish whims is inexcusable in his eyes (as Avicebron found out the hard way), and once Chiron realizes that humanity itself is in danger, he adjusts his decisions accordingly, willing to sacrifice his chance at the Grail and even forcing his student to take up the battle for humanity after he dies. He is always prepared to see the larger picture at stake, even if he understands the sentimentality of the smaller details.
All of this aside, at his core Chiron is just a teacher who wants to help people grow into the best versions of themselves. If anything he's a bit of a mother hen. Quick to take students (especially children) under his wing, he showers them in both sternness and compassion. This is partially due to his upbringing: he was raised by the gods Apollo and Artemis but rejected by both of his divine parents, and so knows what it feels like to not have the unconditional love of someone.
In fact, his wish for the grail is tied into this. While he has made peace with the fact that his parents never loved him, Chiron still wishes for his own immortality to be returned to him -- not because he wants to live forever, or thinks he deserves it, but because that immortality was proof that he was their child. Rejecting it feels too much like rejecting a part of himself that will always be the centaur of legend.
First Impressions
▶ VISUAL: When posing as a human, Chiron stands at 5'10", green-eyed and blond of hair, usually dressed in simple leather armor in order to hide his true identity. His overall frame is lean but muscled, with the exception of his arms (which are thiccc with three Cs because he's a bowman). His long hair is usually tied up in a loose pony tail -- and though at first it might seem that his hair falls all the way to his knees, it's actually a tail protruding from his armor.
In his centaur form, he is significantly taller, over seven feet from hoof to head. His coat is a rich, earthy brown, a much darker shade than his blond hair. Given his bottom half is, well, a horse, he's considerably bulkier as well. As this is his original form, he's far more nimble despite the added girth and can easily get around.
▶ DEMEANOR: Extremely calm and courteous to a fault, it's difficult to rile Chiron up. Fiore even likens him to a warm forest enveloping her. He can be stern, however, especially if he has taken on a position of authority as someone's teacher, and his endless pragmatism can on occasion make him seem much colder than he actually is.
▶ SOUND: Chiron is voiced by Shunsuke Takeuchi since I play him with the Japanese VA in mind. "Soothing" is the first word that comes to mind.
▶ SCENT: The faint smell of pine and forest.
▶ MENTAL INFO: He has a clear and logical mind housing a lot of wisdom. Just the perks of being taught by gods.
Abilities
SERVANT PARAMETERS:
▶ Strength: B ▶ Endurance: B
▶ Agility: A+ ▶ Mana: B
▶ Luck: C ▶ NP: A
(*note: parameters can be shifted if given a more powerful Master but I'll be using this as a base; also, these are his parameters when he's in his human form. Canonically it's been stated that Chiron has higher stats if summoned as a centaur, at the cost of him giving up his anonymity)
▶ Antares Snipe: Chiron's noble phantasm is unique in that it doesn't require its True Name to be released, nor does it need to be filled with magical energy to activate it. Instead he can order the constellation of Sagittarius to snipe an opponent by pointing at it, and this comet shot will always aim for the target's weak-point. In compensation, the attack isn't overwhelmingly strong like most NPs, which means it's a trump card that Chiron and his Master must plan for -- best case scenario is it will take down an enemy by surprise, but if he doesn't think it can kill his target, Chiron will refrain from using the attack.
FGO SKILLS:
▶ Mind's Eye (True) A: Given his clear and calm mind, Chiron can analyze his opponent to the point of avoiding attacks and escaping with minimal injury
▶ Clairvoyance (B+): His eyesight is keen enough that he can shoot targets from miles off, in the dead of night, even through a dense forest. Paired with Mind's Eye, it grants some manner of future sight.
▶ Eternal Dedication EX: Increases the potency of his allies' attacks.
▶ Wisdom of Divine Gift A+: As he was a pupil of the gods and then later taught many famous heroes, Chiron is incredibly wise. This translates into him being a Servant with a multitude of skills that normally would not suit his class. He is proficient with a lance, sword, and bow, can fight well in hand-to-hand combat, and also has a form of presence concealment that is usually only allotted to the Assassin class, to name a few of his abilities. In FGO, this skill translates into boosting the performance of another Servant for a limited period of time.
▶ Independent Action (A): Chiron can act independently of his Master, and can even survive without one for a few hours.
▶ Divinity (C): Given that he once was a divine entity, Chiron is difficult to influence or bully (in FGO it means debuffing him is a pain in the ass)
▶ Magic Resistance (B): What it says on the tin. Chiron can shake off certain spells to a degree.
▶ Archery: He's one of the OG archers in mythology, so yes, he is incredibly skilled with a bow, able to snipe opponents from far away if necessary.
▶ Pankration: A form of hand-to-hand combat that is considered the world's first and oldest mix of martial arts, boxing, and wrestling. Chiron is so proficient at this type of fighting that he will easily switch between it and archery during battle.
Kink List
If anything isn't listed, just ask. I was too lazy to put every kink up here. The "Maybe" category is more specifically for "My character needs to be on good terms with yours" so if we're not in a game or our characters don't naturally have good CR in canon, assume it's a no.
▶ Yes: Vaginal, Anal, Oral, Foreplay, Fight/Rough Sex, Clothed Sex, Vanilla, Body Worship, Threesomes/Moresomes, BDSM, Breathplay, Drugs/Aphro, Fluff, Comfort, Masturbation, Pegging, Roleplay, Xenophilia, Voyeruism, Temperature Play, Sexual Exhaustion, Multiple Orgasms, Sex Toys, Exhibition Sex, Delayed Gratification, Height/Size Difference, Biting
▶ Maybe: Choking, Beastiality (see extra section for more details), Dubious Consent, Blood Play, Heat/Rut
▶ No: Fisting, Bathroom Play, Scat, Infantilism, Mutilation, Male Pregnancy, Genital Torture, Necrophilia, Emetophilia, noncon/rape
Extra
▶ AU Preferences: arranged marriage, soulmates, historical, fairy tales/fae/magic, holy grail wars, honestly anything is free game bc I love AUs
▶ Content Preferences: detailed psls; slow-burn romances; found family oriented psls with his students bc this horse is everyone's dad
▶ So About That Beastiality: General answer is "No" on the subject of Chiron getting ass in his centaur form. Exceptions will be made if we're in a game together and Chiron has good CR with the character. I'll also make exceptions on a case by case basis with his canonmates, for those who want to explore that. But for any random passerby, sorry, I'm not really into horse fucking without a ton of build up. Chiron's weirded out by it anyway.
▶ Ships: I'm open to most ships for Chiron, though keep in mind that he was a married man while alive, and from what I can see of the myths, he was a faithful husband. He also tends to accidentally shove himself into slow burns because he's always chill with the outcome of a romance. Horse man too competent.
Labyrinthum
Here I'm keeping any misc information that pertains to the game, especially if it isn't covered elsewhere.
▶ Canon Point: After his death at the hands of Achilles.
▶ Appearance: In his centaur form, this. In his human form, this. What appearance he takes will depend on the availability of mana he has at his disposal, as well as if he has an available Master.
▶ Master: N/A
▶ Shipping: N/A. Chiron is difficult to ship with given he tends to see most people as students or those requiring something from him. I'm open to it but expect a very long, hard journey before you get to even hold hands.
▶ Offensive Subjects: none on my end, I just ask that people CW for the big ones like rape, assault, etc.
